Medicare for Chiropractic, Part 2: Documentation, Claims, and ABNs Done Right

If Medicare ever requests records, your outcome depends less on the treatment and more on whether your documentation supports medical necessity and active care. This course focuses on the documentation habits that protect Medicare claims (and typically protect all third-party claims), including how to chart progress and re-exams without over-documenting. We also demystify ABNs so you know when to issue them, how to explain them, and how to avoid the common mistakes that make them useless.

Objectives:

  • Apply Medicare documentation requirements to support active treatment and defensible claims.

Use ABNs correctly, including when to issue them and how to document patient financial responsibility.
