Hands-On Mastery: An Interactive Workshop on Physical Examination Techniques (Dr. William Moreau) 8am-12pm, Saturday
This interactive workshop provides Doctors of Chiropractic with practical, evidence-guided training in the performance of core physical examination techniques used in everyday clinical practice and sports medicine settings. The course emphasizes hands-on skill development, accurate interpretation of findings, and integration of exam results into clinical decision-making. Participants will review best-practice methods for neurologic, orthopedic, and functional assessments and apply these techniques in a structured, supervised learning environment.
Case Studies: Active vs. Inactive Spondylolysis/Spondylolisthesis: What’s the Real Cause of Back Pain? (Dr. Terry Yochum) 1pm-5pm, Saturday
Discover what truly drives back pain in patients with spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis. This course integrates essential aspects of anatomy and physiology of the lumbar spine and offers tools to confidently distinguish active from inactive spondylolysis, recognize key clinical signs, and utilize essential tests like the Stork (Micheli’s) test. Through a review of case studies, you’ll learn practical, evidence-based management strategies—including when to use spinal manipulative therapy and how to apply bracing options such as the Boston Overlap Brace. The course also demystifies imaging, empowering you to identify the findings that matter most.
Concussion Evaluation and Management (Dr. William Moreau) 8am-12pm, Sunday
This four-hour course equips Doctors of Chiropractic with current, evidence-guided methods for evaluating and managing concussion, including the integration of chiropractic care. Emphasis is placed on the role of the Doctor of Chiropractic as a primary provider on the sideline and in the clinic. Content includes accurate concussion recognition, assessment strategies, clinical decision-making, return-to-play determinations, and management of special populations. Learners will engage through lecture, case discussions, and practical skill development.
