Breathing is more than a mechanism for oxygen exchange—it is an integral component of spinal stabilization, movement efficiency, and neuromuscular control. Core Activation and Breathing Patterns examines the relationship between the diaphragm, abdominal wall, pelvic floor, rib cage, and spine and how coordinated function of these structures contributes to effective trunk stabilization.

This course provides clinicians and exercise professionals with a practical framework for recognizing dysfunctional breathing and stabilization strategies and understanding their potential influence throughout the kinetic chain. Participants will explore breathing assessment, intra-abdominal pressure, developmental stabilization patterns, joint centration, and the progression of exercise from static stabilization to dynamic and resisted movement. The course concludes with practical assessment and corrective strategies that can be incorporated into rehabilitation, injury prevention, and performance programming.
