Effective resistance training requires more than simply selecting exercises—it requires a systematic approach to program design. This course provides healthcare, rehabilitation, fitness, and strength professionals with a practical framework for developing individualized resistance-training programs based on an athlete or client's needs, training status, goals, and available resources. Participants will learn how to select and order exercises, determine appropriate training frequency, prescribe loads and repetitions, manipulate training volume and rest periods, and safely progress resistance over time.

Whether the goal is strength, power, hypertrophy, muscular endurance, or improved athletic performance, this course provides the foundational principles needed to develop safe, progressive, and goal-specific resistance-training programs. The presentation emphasizes that heavier loads generally correspond with fewer repetitions and that load and repetition selection should be matched to the desired training outcome.
